Not to get to personal, but is this a doctor-verified addiction or self-diagnosed? Don't misunderstand me, I don't think self-diagnosing is bad, being self-aware is very important. But I'm just wondering if there is a medical professional involved. If so, what would they recommend?

Even though I am very pro sexual freedom, I also recognize it can be a problem if it becomes an addiction and not controlled. Maybe, if you do participate in #sexytember, you can make them pinup or SFW art instead? Just spitballing ideas.

I feel for you and I hope you are able to manage it.

its just self-diagnosed. and i am discussing with my therapist about these topics. in general drawing nsfw art is a healthy alternative for me and it helps release those feelings in a less destructive way.
i appreciate ur concern!

@Bridgham I didnt think about that perspective! I am still excited for you to participate, but I don't want to add to the problem. Glad you are talking with a therapist!

<3 be well!

I'm not a medical professional, but when it comes to "how much is too much", opinions are divided. "Traditional" views on this matter tend to be less than helpful. Religious views in particular are often ignoring natural urges. (I think Mormons in particular prohibit their members from _ever_ masturbating - so they make like 20 babies and keep the religion alive.)

Looking stuff up online can be equally tinted. ("Twice a week?! You're an addict! Buy my book to learn how to free yourself from [etc.] - I also sell pills and exorcisms!")

'But...': If it's bothering you and it gets in your way of living your life the way you want to live it, but you lack the discipline to resist the urge, pick a _medical_professional_ who doesn't have religious symbols on their wall and talk to 'them' about it.
Do _not_ leave your fate in the hands of 'trial and error'-approaches or 'home remedies'.

(Addendum: I started typing that reply about 2 hours ago, but stuff got in the way. I only read @Zilu7's replies [and yours] afterwards. I'm leaving the main body of my comment 'as is', even if it sounds a little tone-deaf now.)

thank you! i appreciate ur input. i am getting professional help from an unbiased source
